Welcome to 3rd Salisbury Sea Scouts

Please bare with us as we bring this new website fully online

3rd Salisbury is a very active Scout group catering for young people aged between 6 and 14 through our Beaver, Cub and Scout sections. We currently have ~65 members plus adult leaders and parent helpers and are one of 14 Scout groups in the Salisbury and South Wilts District. Weekly meetings are held at Scout hut on St Marks Avenue, Salisbury Wilts - Tuesday evenings for Beavers, Thursday evenings for Cubs and Scouts.

The sections are led by enthusiastic and steadfast leaders and parent supporters and each section offers a wide and varied programme of activities throughout the year. The group also takes an active part in District run activities please check the pages for Beavers, cubs and Scouts for more information.

The 3rd Salisbury is one of the oldest Scout groups in the area with a long history and in February 2010 we were pleased to  celebrated the groups 100th birthday.

We are also the only ‘Sea’ Scout group in the area and own our own boats that the Scouts sail at Blashford lakes near Ringwood from April until October, this is in addition to the fun land based activities and badge work. This year we are also going to trial r sailing during the Autumn & Winter.

The group is managed by our Group Scout Leader Sandra McKenna and supported by a very dedicated Executive committee led by our Chairwoman Helen Twentyman.

If you want one of your children to join one of our sections, then please check the Beaver (6-8 year olds), Cub (8-10.5 years) and Scout (10.5-14 years) sections for more information and contact us.  We welcome both boys and girls in scouting.  Beaver and Cub sections especially often operate at capacity so please contact us early to put your child’s name down.

The Scout hut is available to hire at very reasonable rates please contact us for more details and availability.
